TESTIMONY OF FACILITATOR TRAINING COURSE
Over the past few years, I have come to see that one of the main things the Mongolian churches need is good-quality discipleship materials. In addition, there are the following important questions to be answered.
How to lead a small group? What to say and what to ask? Who should speak? Should the group leader only be a teacher who teaches? It is clear to me that our churches often lack clear methods regarding how to run such group meetings.
Through the MTEE group facilitator’s training I learnt exactly the kinds of methods my church members and I need to organize such group sessions. I also received a clear introduction to the MTEE discipleship course materials that are available. I was very pleased to see how well-structured the MTEE program is: the lessons and the courses are very systematic and easy to understand and the wording is clear.
As regards how to lead an MTEE small group, I learnt the best methods of facilitating a small group session from beginning to the end. What really stood out for me was that the group facilitator should not be the one who speaks and teaches, but that instead, he or she should use practical ways to involve each student in the group discussions and activities.
What I really liked was that the facilitator should make the group members think for them-selves, and stimulate them to share their thoughts with one another and to ask questions. This training has enabled me to provide the people in my church with a useful, relevant course program that fulfills their needs for growth in faith and true discipleship.
