Tutor Training in Middle Gobi Province May 9 – 12, 2011
The educational methodology of TEE rests on three essential components:
1. Some form of Home Study, in preparation for…
…2. Regular Group Meetings, led by a facilitator, leading to…
…3. Practical application and ministry assignments.
Just like the two rails and the sleepers/ties of a railway track, these components belong together – if any one of them is missing or ineffective, the student’s learning experience breaks down!
And the role of the Group Facilitator in leading the weekly Group Meetings is a crucial one, so the training of new facilitators is one of the most important things that we do.
Last week, Sh. Ganbold and Ts. Tuvshinjargal travelled to Mandalgovi,
the Provincial centre of Middle Govi Province to train new tutors there. Mandalgovi is about 250 km south of the capital, Ulaanbaatar, and our trainers travelled with the postal service minibus.
There were twenty-one participants from six churches involved, including some from the outlying soum centres, some ninety to one hundred and fifty kilometres from the Provincial centre. Those coming to be trained ranged in age from 21-year old Badamgerel to Handaa, a seventy-one year old lady – and both were among the 14 who completed the training successfully.
The training emphasizes good preparation for each group meeting through the use of a discussion plan, and each participant practises leading a group discussion.
Everyone contributes feedback, and our trainers affirm what was done well, and highlight the areas needing improvement.
Following the training, copies of Abundant Life have been ordered, and so we pray for good and lasting fruit from this training.
