Testimony of Burmaa, who received her Certificate of Christian Ministry in June 2020.
As I studied at MTEE,
- I learnt how to read and study the Bible in the right way;
- I discovered the relation between the Old and the New Testament;
- I was so glad that it enabled me to do self-study in a systematic and effective way as guided by the coursebooks;
- Before I started the MTEE evening class, when I read the Bible, I did not take note of the names of people or places, or any time indicators. I just read and read. As I went through one coursebook after another, I changed my Bible-reading habits and started to read with much closer attention to names of places (Where was this place? Was it far away or nearby?), to the kind of people that appeared (Was this a king? Was this a prophet? What did they do?), etc.;
- I also learnt how to evangelize and grew in the ability to interpret what is written in the Bible and explain it to others;
- In addition, I learnt how to put into practice what we learnt in our small group studies: to listen carefully to the opinions of others, and to show respect to what others think;
- I noticed that I was learnt how to live under the guidance of the Lord in every area of life!
I know it is now my duty to continue putting into practice what I have learnt so far and to pass it on to others. I believe that now, after I have graduated, a new period of time in my life is starting.
The flexible way in which the MTEE courses have equipped and taught me has been very helpful for me! It has enabled me to continue my studying without having to leave my hometown in the countryside, because I could do the course lessons one by one at home and do the practical assignments with my classmates and church friends.
Finally, I pray that MTEE may be able to have more and more people do its evening courses. For me it was a very effective and fruitful time: it helped me discover who I am and encouraged me to work on my attitudes and behavior and thus grow in spiritual maturity.
